- Cancellation & Refund under Free Look Period( Terms and Conditions)
Free Look Period – Cancellation & Refund
As per IRDAI guidelines, you have the right to cancel your life or health insurance policy within duration specified under each Insurer Product (this is called the “Free Look Period”). If you cancel the policy during this time, you are eligible for a refund of your premium, based on the insurer’s process.
This Free Look option is only available for Life and Health Insurance policies and may come with certain terms and conditions set by IRDAI/Insurer Product. We recommend reading your policy document wordings carefully. If it doesn’t meet your needs, feel free to use this Free Look option.
If you request cancellation within the Free Look period, the insurer will cancel your policy and refund your premium, after deducting:
Any charges for medical tests (if done),
Administrative costs (like stamp duty, etc.),
And mortality charges for the period the policy was active.
Please note that these deductions are completely at the insurer’s discretion.
The insurer is fully responsible for processing your refund, based on IRDAI’s rules. We act only as a service provider, helping customers with faster processing and support — but we don’t hold or manage your refund directly.
- Important Terms You Agree To (For Health Insurance Only)
When you fill out and submit the health insurance proposal form, you agree to the following:
Honest and Complete Information:
You confirm that all the details you’ve given—both for yourself and anyone else you’re including in the insurance—are true and complete to the best of your knowledge. You’re also confirming that you’re allowed to submit this proposal on their behalf.
Basis of Policy:

Update on Health or Occupation:
If there are any changes in your or the insured person’s job or health after submitting the form but before approval, you will inform the insurance company in writing.
Permission to Collect Medical Info:
You agree that the insurance company can request medical information about you or the person being insured from any doctor, hospital, or even previous employers, to assess the risk or process a claim.
Sharing Information for Legal/Underwriting Reasons:
You give permission to GoInsureIndia.com and the insurer to share your proposal details (including medical info) with government bodies or regulators, but only for underwriting the policy or handling claims.
Authorized Representatives Access:
You also agree that authorized representatives of the insurance company (even if they’re not employees) can get your medical details from any hospital or doctor you or the insured person has visited—or may visit in the future—to help issue the policy or handle a claim.

No one is allowed to offer or give you any kind of discount or rebate (either fully or partially) on the insurance premium or commission as a way to convince you to buy, renew, or continue an insurance policy—unless it’s an official discount mentioned in the insurer’s approved brochures or pricing tables.
Similarly, you should also not accept any such unauthorized rebates or discounts.

- Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Requirements
To carry out any financial transaction through our website, you agree and understand that we may need to collect some personal information from you as part of the Know Your Customer (KYC) process.
